Garlic and Cheese Bread
For the dough:
1 cup of warm milk (200 ml)
1 teaspoon of granulated sugar
1 teaspoon of yeast or half a packet of fresh yeast
2 tablespoons of olive oil
Approximately 2.5 cups of flour
Approximately 1 teaspoon of salt
For the garlic filling:
1 head of garlic (I prefer a large one)
3-4 tablespoons of olive oil
2 tablespoons of softened butter
Salt
Black pepper
Red pepper flakes
A pinch of chopped parsley
Grated cheese (I used mozzarella)
First, knead the dough and let it rise. Add the flour at the end, carefully, until you get a soft dough. Peel the garlic and sauté it in a pan with 3-4 tablespoons of olive oil. Don’t leave it unattended, stirring constantly, as it cooks very quickly. Let it cool a bit. Mix the garlic with the other ingredients, crushing it as you incorporate it. Divide the risen dough into 3 parts and stretch them out like long flatbreads. Place the dough on a baking sheet, spread the garlic mixture evenly on top, and sprinkle generously with grated cheese. If you like, you can also add red pepper flakes. Bake in a preheated oven at 230 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes. I recommend enjoying it hot! 🤌
